One of the most rewarding aspects about being in business is the connections we make with other businesses and charitable organizations in our community. Over the years we have supported many charities and non-profit organizations in the Syracuse area, including Jowonio School, Make a Wish Foundation, Syracuse Samaritan Center, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Golisano Childrens’ Hospital.

Part of our philosophy at Michael Roberts is to convey not only what we do for our clients, but also what we care about and believe in.

This year, we are proud to support Clear Path for Veterans to help raise both funds and awareness for our veterans. In its mission statement, Clear Path for Veterans states it is the responsibility of communities to help those who serve our country. Through a myriad of supportive programs Clear Path does exactly that. Clear Path empowers service members, veterans and their families in a safe, respectful environment.

Barriers to reintegration for veterans are vast, ranging from PTSD, anxiety, physical/mental disabilities, pain, culture shock, and difficulty accessing benefits. Clear Path serves urban and rural veterans alike.

To help support Clear Path, we have set up a donation box in our reception area for anyone who wishes to make a financial contribution1. We will also promote Clear Path by gathering donations through social media and emails during the year. At our July 21st Summer Barbeque at Greenwood Winery, a Clear Path veteran will share their story about the help that Clear Path for Veterans has provided after returning from a combat tour of duty. Representatives from Clear Path will also be on site with information about how to get involved with their volunteer programs.

Another fun event at our July 21st BBQ is a “wine pull” to raise money for Clear Path for Veterans. Participants can purchase (for $20) and pull a “bottle of wine” (wrapped to hide the bottle label and value), from a selection of expensive, medium range and lower priced wines. All proceeds will go to Clear Path for Veterans. Anyone interested in donating a wine bottle for the wine pull, please contact Rachel Roney or Lois Cody at (315) 428-1990.

We hope to see you at our July 21st Summer Barbeque. Thank you for helping us to support Clear Path for Veterans!
